Dear Friends of Savary Island,

WOW! $50,000 raised in record time.  Awesome job Savary! 

I am happy to let you know that we met our goal to raise $50,000 for the Nature Trust court Appeal.  Thanks to all who contributed!  We will report the results to the Nature Trust and let them know just how important this is to Savary Island.  The Nature Trust will be meeting tomorrow and I will let you know their decision, as soon as I have more information.

The Powell River Regional District (PRRD) will meet tonight to have first and second readings of the Bylaw to protect sensitive areas and archaeological sites on the dune property (DL 1375). Once this is passed there will be a period for public input and a hearing on Savary on the long weekend in May (probably Sunday May 23.) If you can attend the meeting that would be great!  Otherwise you can make a written submission to the PRRD.  I will have more information on this tomorrow as well.

Now that makes for a very Happy Earth Day!
